Revised Access Statement -

July 2020

Covid 19 restrictions have affected our usual conditions of access. Please read this information as we are operating differently due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. Social distancing must ALWAYS be maintained on the campsite. The rules are no different than at home. Please show consideration for the local community.

All arrivals MUST report at the house to register and pay. Please ring the bell loudly and stand behind the outside wall. We will conduct all business in the open keeping social distance. You will no longer have to sign your receipt to minimise contact. If you require change after payment, this will have been stored in disinfectant. You will be directed to your pitch number (if you have booked an electric hook-up) or instructed where you can choose your pitch (these are random).

All campers are required to give contact details on arrival at the site to assist in possible tracing, in case of future infection.

The toilet and shower block are limited to three persons in either the gents/ladies. All showers and toilets are in separate cubicles.
The individual toilet/shower rooms (family rooms) are restricted to 1 person or a couple. We ask that you shower children down by the house at the ‘family shower facility’, so that people-flow is maintained at the main cabin.
Children under 12 are NOT ALLOWED in the toilets/showers on their own. They MUST be supervised by a family adult member.

No more than two people are allowed in the washing-up area at one time.

Sanitising stations are sited as you arrive near the house, outside the toilet block and in the gents/ladies toilets and shower room.
You MUST sanitise your hands before entering the buildings.
Wash your hands more frequently and use the hand sanitisers positioned by the cabin/house.

Please maintain social distancing when filling up with fresh water or emptying waste.
Please dispose of your rubbish appropriately and remember to recycle items where possible. We thank you for your support.
All freshwater taps will be sanitised regularly.

You must inform us of any person in your group showing symptoms of coronavirus:
• Dry cough
• High temperature
• Headache
• Loss of smell.
We can then implement ‘Track and Trace’.

Thank you for your co-operation. Please stay safe.

Rushmere Campsite is a small family run farm site, occupying approximately 3 acres of the farm. The farm is situated between the A4136 (main arterial road to The Forest of Dean) and the B4228 (Grid reference 5611), half a mile west of Coleford with all local facilities, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets and takeaways.

Rushmere Farm backs on to The Highmeadow Estate of Royal Forest of Dean. You can walk from the farm through the forest to the River Wye near the Biblins Lodge and Symonds Yat (one the most beautiful parts of England).

This website contains essential information and further details are readily available with a phone call, should the camper require it on 01594 835319.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
The farm is approached off a side road which joins the two main roads. Access is easy for the largest vehicles. The drive is tarmac, leading right up to the campsite and car can be parked adjacent to your tent or caravan. There is plenty of room to spare.

Reception is at the main house at the end of the drive. Ring on the door bell for a member of the family. If no-one is immediately, please find a pitch and see us later.

Electric Hook Ups
Electric hook ups are restricted to 6 and 10 amps output. Electric Heaters, Electric Cookers, Microwaves, domestic fast boiling kettles are not permitted to be used as they overload the system. Special Camping kettles can be purchased from any caravan / camping supplier.

We have been obliged to impose these restrictions as a general unfair use of the system causes the electrics to trip out for the whole site.

Public Areas
All Campers are restricted to the camping field unless other permission has been given. This is a farm with horses and machinery and care should be taken at all times.

There is usually a spare field to walk and run your dogs. Please ask on arrival.

Public Area – WC
We have recently constructed a new toilet and shower block in the style of an American log cabin. Using local and local and reclaimed materials. There are two private toilet / showers, two ladies and two gents cubicles in each of the toilets. The original toilet / shower near the house is still fully accesible for disabled or elderly people.

We try to keep them clean at all times and have received good reviews on various camping websites. Paper towels, hand wash, toilet paper and bins are provided. Stocks are replenished frequently and bins are also emptied frequently.

A large family shower has been created by the main house with easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Adequate handrails are provided for the shower and toilet area. Non-slip safety flooring as in all the showers.

There is a facility for waste water disposal.

All water in the camping fields is drinking water.
